Board Certified in Internal Medicine

He graduated from Meharry Medical College in 2011 with a Doctorate of Medicine degree. He is a member of the American Association for Physician Leadership, the Seaboard Medical Society, the American College of Healthcare Executives, the National Black MBA Association, and the Old North State Medical Association, just to name a few.

Dr. Bonner has also served in many Leadership Positions which include but not limited to Representative of Multidisciplinary Advisory Committee for the Centers for Disease Control Vaccine Confidence Project, Representative of Edenton-Chowan Educational Foundation, Representative of Perquimans County School Health Advisory Council, Medical Director for Ambulatory Quality and Patient Safety, and Medical Director of Diabetes Self-Management Education Advisory Committee.

Dr. Bonner has received many honors and rewards for excellence in leadership.

In addition to joining the OIC family, Dr. Bonner serves as Affiliate Professor of Internal Medicine, Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, Greenville, NC.

Dr. Bonner will be a great asset to our community and OIC Integrated Health Services at OIC Family Medical Centers. His Primary Location will be OIC Family Medical Center at Happy Hill.

Board Certified Doctor of Medicine specializing in Family Medicine

She is a 2003 graduate of the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center School of Medicine.  She successfully completed her internship in June 2004 and her residency in June 2006 at the University Of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, NC.  Dr. Roberts currently resides in Clayton, NC. She has been with OIC, Inc. since 11/2015 and was appointed Medical Director in 01/2016. Dr. Roberts has received many honors and awards; such as, The Whitehead Teaching Award in 2005 and the NCAFP Intern Scholarship for 2003 while she was in the residency program.  She also received the Dr. Henry C. Kempe Award from 2000-2003 while she was in medical school.  Dr. Roberts is also a member of the Virtuous Diamonds Social Club.

Dr. Roberts will continue to be a great asset to our community and OIC Integrated Health Services with her primary location being at OIC Family Medical Center at Community Health Plaza.

Board Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist

LaVonne Hairston is a board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist. She graduated from Meharry Medical College with a Doctorate of Medicine in 2011 and completed her residency training at Ochsner Medical Center in 2015.

Dr. Hairston is board certified with both the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Board of Obesity Medicine. She is also the founder of a nonprofit organization called T.I.M.E 4 Her (Teach, Inspire, Mentor, Encourage).

Dr. Hairston comes seasoned with years of experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology and will be a great asset to the community and to OIC Integrated Services. Her primary location will be OIC Family Medical Center Happy Hill.

Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner

She graduated from Walden University with a Masters of Science in Nursing. Joy very familiar with OIC. As she has completed Advance Practice Care of Adults and Synthesis in Advanced Nursing Practice of Patients in Family Care Settings Rotations under the direction of Dr. Tisa Roberts, and Emily Knight, PA-C. She also completed Advanced Nurse Practice in Reproductive Health Care Rotation under the direction of Glenda Pulliam, A-GNP.

In addition to joining the OIC Family, Joy also serves on staff at UNC Nash Care Health Systems. Joy now resides in Rocky Mount, North Carolina and will be a great asset to our community and OIC Integrated Health Services with her primary location being at OIC Family Medical Center at Happy Hill.

Board Certified Physician’s Assistant

She is a graduate of Stanford Junior University with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies. Her Internships have allowed her to work in many areas of medicine such as but not limited to, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Pediatrics.

Rahwa is currently employed with First Choice Community Health Centers providing quality and evidence-based care for patients of all ages; and a member of the American Academy of Physicians assistants.

Rahwa relocated from California and now resides in Raleigh, North Carolina. She will be a great asset to our community and OIC Integrated Health Services with her primary location being at OIC Family Medical Center, Fairview.
